Cycle trip from Zimbabwe 2 Cape town and the world cup in South Africa.

Full speed, down hill throw the town ships straight towards the sea after a few hundred Kilometers of cycling. What a beautiful feeling!!! Lately I didn’t put much energy in working and filming but personally my life didn’t stand still, once again I’m a lot of adventures and impressions richer.

From the flat lands in Botswana, Platinum city of Rustenburg, golden and busy city of j-burg, warmth of Durban, Sea side’s of Port Elisabeth, and last but not least the gardens route to Cape town. I even cycled the last 400 KM alone. Before I was afraid to cycle alone but I guess if you plan the route good you can do it.

Too have been here during the world cup was quite special. Already once we past the border from Botswana to South Africa there was a kind a try out with blowing the vuvuzela’s so the whole day people cheered us up with there excitement. There was an extraordinary positive expression in all the people they where so enthusiastic!!! ka Nako= It is time!!! Feel it its here. My first south African sister/mama brought me to the count down. It was next to the Rustenburg stadium celebrating with a few hundred people nice tunes and everybody was dancing.

I didn’t plan to go to matches in the stadium but couldn’t resist the temptation. First game was England-USA in Rustenburg. Because my cycling friends where all from the UK it was quiet some thing dahm they love there football, beers and songs as well.
In Durban I saw Holland-Japan, in Port Elisabeth England-Slovenia and Holland-Brazil which was an amazing game. Already the vibe towards the stadium was great I was with 3 Brazilians drinking, dancing much fun. Of course after the game they got totally out of the mood and we went straight back home. It was not bad for me because the next day I continued the bike trip to be on time in Cape town to be here or the Holland-Uruguay match.

The matches on TV look much bigger then in reality. I guess because there is no border on TV. The vibes of course in the stadium are amazing. The world cup is for sure not only about football. All the people you meet from all over the world and everybody is so exited, friendly and inviting. Not only the locals but also the other visitors from all over the world all here just to enjoy, celebrating together but also sharing the loses ! ;)

Now the cup and cycle trip is over I will concentrate on work again. I really enjoyed the trip but looking forward to create again. I might have too small projects here in South Africa and from here I like to go to Mozambique and see what I can do experience give a take there!!!

    Lieve big sistah,

    Koessie,
    Chantal
